I enjoy the convenience of using Google for both my blog and as my RSS aggregator; the fewer sites, usernames and passwords I have to remember and use the better. I am more likely to check my blog and feeds if it is in one site. I think that using the RSS feeds to stay current in areas that I am interested in personally and professionally will be useful and something that I will use long term even after I have completed the 23 things on a stick.Media Person CIhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04818170895767802033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5194002750826179370.post-87008536996690600672008-04-04T17:52:00.000-07:002008-04-04T18:18:46.362-07:00Thing 2 - Library 2.0It is exciting and energizing to read how our libraries and the needs of our patrons are changing. This is one of the reasons I was interested in pursuing a career in the library media field. It is exciting, but it can also, at times, be overwhelming. I liked Stephen Abram's comment in his video that we need to make learning something new a priority.

The information that we can access is amazing. The tools that we have available to interact with information and each other is amazing as well. A concern that I have and I guess it is a challenge for me as well, is in teaching my students to be good consumers of information. I do worry about young, naive students who take everything they read and see on the Internet as the gospel truth. Since anyone and everyone can publish it is imperative that we teach our students to be critical consumers.

I look forward to learning more about Library 2.0 and Web 2.0. We are on a great adventure!Media Person CIhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04818170895767802033noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5194002750826179370.post-15839887472042379462008-02-15T10:37:00.000-08:002008-02-15T10:38:55.562-08:00First BlogThis is my first blog.
